Project Goal
Develop and establish curriculum to train and certify individuals traditionally excluded from existing aquatic/scuba programs.

Project Summary
This project proposed to develop and establish curriculum to train and certify individuals traditionally excluded from existing aquatic/scuba programs. The project intended to promote national adoption of this curriculum by the various agencies that certify and train scuba divers. Aquatics Unlimited would use training and technology to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop skills for in-water recreational activities. Benefits to participants were to include aerobic conditioning, socialization, and development of a sense of independence and community integration.
