Coalition of Texans with Disabilities — Housing: New Initiatives Project

Housing: New Initiatives Project

[two_third]

Project Goal
Train and provide technical assistance to public housing authorities in Texas to increase integrated housing for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Project Summary
The Coalition of Texans with Disabilities (CTD) proposed to provide training and technical assistance to public housing authorities that would result in a measurable increase in the number of integrated housing units available to people with IDD. CTD would develop high-quality training materials, plan and conduct training sessions, and provide targeted technical assistance in up to nine housing authorities over the life of the grant. Because this was a critical stage of public policy in the development and implementation of the Promoting Independence plan, information from this project was to be provided to policymakers.
