Every two years, the Texas Legislature convenes for a 140-day regular legislative session. The Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD) monitors legislative activities that could impact disability-related programs and services. The regular session of the 87th Texas Legislature concluded in May 2021. During the legislative session, TCDD provided regular updates on what’s happening at the Capitol. These weekly updates included important testimony, hearings to watch, legislative-related resources, and more.
Monday, May 31, was the 140th and final day of the regular session of the 87th Texas Legislature. Lawmakers spent the day adopting resolutions, hearing announcements, and making minor technical corrections to bills that had already passed.
