The Texas House advances several disability-related bills, and TCDD provides legislative testimony on training for law enforcement who interact with autistic people.
House Bill 2310 would require the development of a four-year strategic plan to improve access to child care and early childhood education for children with disabilities. The bill was authored by Rep. Claudia Ordaz.

The 87th regular session is over. But after a weekend of tension over a controversial bill related to state election rules, Texas lawmakers are expected to return for a special session.

During its spring meetings, the Council awarded funding to continue the development of TCDD projects, received updates on the Texas Legislature, and discussed future activities and policy work.
