As part of TCDD’s advocacy efforts to improve the service system for individuals with developmental disabilities, we have developed comprehensive flyers to provide information on bills being considered in the 87th Texas Legislature. We will update this page with additional disability-related bills as the session continues.
Senate Bill 50 (PDF) SB 50 aims to increase the number of people with disabilities who use employment services available through the Medicaid waivers by ensuring waiver providers properly assess the goals and interests of their recipients.
House Bill 168 (PDF) promotes inclusive child care, guaranteeing that child care providers cannot discriminate against an infant or toddler simply because they have a disability. Providers cannot turn them away because of a disability if services can be provided with reasonable accommodation.
