The Texas House advances several disability-related bills, and TCDD provides legislative testimony on training for law enforcement who interact with autistic people.
House Bill 2310 would require the development of a four-year strategic plan to improve access to child care and early childhood education for children with disabilities. The bill was authored by Rep. Claudia Ordaz.

Gerken previously worked on disability policy through positions at The Arc of Texas, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, and Easterseals Central Texas. She joined TCDD on July 1, 2020.
Kaleh coordinates external communications for TCDD, including public advocacy campaigns and outreach activities for the Council’s initiatives. She joined TCDD on Jan. 19, 2021.
