Council members awarded grant funding to continue ongoing projects, discussed initiatives to improve health equity and service delivery for Texans with disabilities, and more.
With the Legislature’s regular session in its final stretch, many disability-related bills hit critical deadlines while some move closer to becoming law.
House Bill 175 would establish optional certifications and a grant program for child care providers serving children with disabilities. The bill was authored by Rep. Mary González.

House Bill 3947 would require metropolitan planning organizations to consider the transportation needs of people with disabilities when developing their 10-year plans. The bill was authored by Rep. Yvonne Davis.
