In the session’s waning days, lawmakers will discuss some proposed bills in formal meetings rather than public hearings, making it an important time for advocates to contact their legislators.
Several disability-related bills passed before a major House deadline, including measures to ban the death penalty on people with intellectual disabilities and create an accessible absentee ballot system.
HB 4702 would establish peer supports for individuals with DD as a billable service under Medicaid. The bill was authored by Rep. Liz Campos.
Lawmakers in the House and Senate pass notable bills on important disability issues, including measures involving property tax exemptions, legal guardianships, voting accommodations, and more.
HB 5146 would establish the Building Better Futures Program for students with DD. The bill was authored by Rep. John Raney.
