Project Goal
Provide up to 400 special educators with “train-the-trainer” workshops so they can train other educators to recognize, understand, and work with students who have developmental disabilities (DD) and mental health conditions.
Project Summary
Project TEDD (Training Educators in Dual Diagnosis) will provide training workshops for K-12 educators who specialize in teaching students who have dual diagnoses of DD and mental health conditions. Educators who complete the workshops will be able to use their skills and knowledge to help their school districts support students with dual diagnoses.
Region 17 Education Service Center in Lubbock will host the initial workshops. The focus of Project TEDD will then expand to including training at other education service centers in Texas. Educators who receive training during the initial workshops will be expected to provide training to at least five other educators.
