Project Goal
Promote communication skills, cognition and school readiness for nontypical learners through the Start with the Arts program.
Project Summary
VSA Arts of Texas proposed to use the Start with the Arts program to promote communication skills, cognition and school readiness for nontypical learners. Preschool educators and other early childhood intervention specialists in about 20 sites across Texas were to be trained on using Start with the Arts as part of daily lesson plans. Additionally, parents could learn about activities they can do at home with their children. The Start with the Arts materials were to be evaluated for their influence on the child’s family through pre- and post-project interviews, a paper survey, and follow-up calls
