The Enterprise Foundation — Consumer-Controlled Housing Project

Project Goal
Build the capacity and housing production capability of nonprofits throughout Texas. Develop best practice examples on how to provide integrated, inclusive housing opportunities for people with developmental disabilities (DD).

Project Summary
To increase the availability and affordability of housing for people with DD in Texas, the Enterprise Foundation proposed to build on the success of a previous three-year grant project by building the capacity and housing production capability of nonprofits throughout Texas. The project also aimed to produce best practice examples on how to provide integrated, inclusive housing opportunities for people with DD. Project activities were to include creating new community housing development organizations, which will in turn would provide training and technical assistance on housing to organizations across Texas.
