Region 17 Education Service Center — Family Involvement in Schools

Project Objective
This project will provide training, individualized coaching, technical assistance and access to resources for families and schools served by the Region 17 Education Service Center to increase family involvement and satisfaction with local schools. The project will also develop partnerships with families, local community agencies and schools in order to address barriers to family involvement in schools, such as issues with transportation and childcare. The coaching and training will focus on effective communication, home and school collaboration, and other topics to increase parents’ involvement in their children’s education. While some training and the coaching will be focused on specific school districts each year, other opportunities will be available in all 20 counties in Region 17. This includes Bailey, Borden, Cochran, Cottle, Crosby, Dawson, Dickens, Floyd, Gaines, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Kent, King, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Motley, Terry and Yoakum counties
