Project Goal
Develop and maintain an advocacy support network.

Project Summary
The project proposed to develop and maintain an advocacy support network in Houston and surrounding areas. Community members who have a vested interest in issues that impact the lives of people with developmental disabilities (DD) were to be educated through workshops, a monthly newsletter, and monthly meetings. Efforts were meant to focus on building a network of members who would participate in advocacy activities that would have a positive outcome for people with DD. Information from local, state, and national organizations was planned to be provided to members, and information regarding local issues was to be forwarded to state organizations.
