Valley Association for Independent Living — Increasing Employment for South Texans with DD

The Valley Association for Independent Living (VAIL) is developing an employment readiness program to increase job opportunities for early-career adults with developmental disabilities (DD) living in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. The project, called the South Texas Disability Employment Collaborative, offers training for participants to enhance their workplace skills and be better prepared to achieve their job and career goals. VAIL is also developing a training curriculum in English and Spanish. 

This project is part of a TCDD strategic initiative to address targeted disparity and barriers to employment for people with DD in South Texas.
