Texas State Independent Living Council — Accessible Transportation Summits

Project Goal
Host five summits on accessible transportation and develop policy recommendations to remove transportation barriers for Texans with disabilities and increase both private and public accessible transportation options

Project Summary
The Texas State Independent Living Council (SILC) initiated stakeholder dialogues through annual Transportation Works summits that brought together transportation collaborators to develop an extensive report that takes stock of statewide and resources to serve transportation needs of Texans with disabilities. The project was designed to create sustainable change and increase accessible transportation for nearly 2 million Texans with disabilities who report not leaving their homes due to inadequate transportation services.
