Support people with developmental disabilities (DD) by expanding awareness of potential career opportunities.

Project Summary
Meaningful Day projects improve access to meaningful employment and community activities for people with disabilities. Grantees test models and build organizational capacity to help people with disabilities achieve meaningful outcomes.

Best Buddies coordinated career exploration events in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston areas to support people with DD to seek meaningful employment in their communities. The events were hosted by local employers. Attendees developed essential job-seeking skills through roleplaying exercises and mock interviews. Following the events, Best Buddies coordinated the Best Buddies Jobs program, where participants completed training in job development, pre-employment, and work exploration skills.
