Mounting Horizons — Youth Leadership Development

Project Summary
Mounting Horizons created the Young Adult Advocates Leadership club to engage and educate youth with developmental disabilities (DD). The project promoted sustainable and authentic leadership in young adults through personal exploration and experimental learning. Participants received bi-monthly training, attended policymaking meetings, and guided peers to take action in their communities by leading leadership and self-advocacy training at annual forums. 

TCDD funding supported this project to increase access to information and training for people with DD, families, and caregivers to advocate for themselves and collaborate with allies to impact public policy, service systems, and community supports.
