Texas A&M Research Foundation – Family Support Network

Family Support Network

[two_third]

Project Goal
Help families obtain information, support, and skills they need to make informed decisions about their lives.

Project Summary
The project planned to establish a family support network in the seven-county area of Brazos Valley. The Network would focus on issues impacting children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. It could be a resource for families to get the information, support, and skills needed to make informed decisions about their lives and those of their children. The Network proposed to hold public hearings on topics identified as important by families. Families would also receive information through a bilingual monthly newsletter. As much of the Brazos Valley area is rural, outreach efforts were planned specifically for those populations.
