REACH Families — Culturally Appropriate Family Supports

Project Objective
The goal of this project is to increase awareness and provide support and access to resources for the Ethiopian, Eritrean and Kenyan communities residing in Dallas, Collin, Denton and Tarrant counties. The goals will be achieved through networking, collaboration and relationship building. The project will educate community leaders about available resources; encourage early intervention; provide culturally sensitive resources so families can achieve their goals; help improve advocacy skills for the communities; create tools to better help families coordinate services; and help with development of employment opportunities.


State Plan Goal 1
Create and support promising practices that enable people with developmental disabilities to be fully included in their communities and to have control over their own lives by 9/30/2021.
