Community Healthcore — Meaningful Day Project

Project Goal
Increase employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities (DD) who want to work in their communities.

Project Summary
Meaningful Day projects improve access to meaningful employment and community activities for people with disabilities. Grantees test models and build organizational capacity to help people with disabilities achieve meaningful outcomes.

Community Healthcore tested strategies to increase awareness and knowledge of how employing people with DD benefits individuals and communities. Participants included people with DD, family members, employers, and service providers. The project’s activities included developing a curriculum and organizing training sessions to increase family and employer expectations around people with DD working in jobs of their choice in their communities.
