TCDD is pleased to welcome Crystal Goodwin as our Public Health and Disability Integration Specialist. In her role, Goodwin will partner with network professionals to expand the public health workforce to better serve people with developmental disabilities (DD). Goodwin will demonstrate best practices in public health coordination, disability-specific health education, and inclusive pandemic planning for people with DD. TCDD is one of eleven disability-specific organizations in Texas that were offered funding from the Administration for Community Living (ACL) to enhance the public health system in our state.
Goodwin has a passion for working with individuals with disabilities and improving how systems provide support, access, and response during emergencies and natural disasters. Her most recent work evaluated how local emergency managers across the state use the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR) data to assist those with disabilities.
Outside of work, Goodwin loves to read books, play video games, and spend time with family and friends. She is currently completing her degree in emergency administration and disaster planning, as well as non-profit leadership at the University of North Texas in Denton. Goodwin joined TCDD on Aug. 15, 2022.
