Input can be provided at a workshop, via online survey, or by telephone.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a second round of workshops to get input to improve transportation for people with disabilities and older adults in rural areas.

In January, TxDOT will continue to conduct its series of regional workshops to get input from local stakeholders regarding how to improve transportation for people with disabilities and older adults in rural areas. The feedback provided at the workshops will inform how TxDOT distributes funds to public transportation providers through the 5310 Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program. Stakeholders could include transit users, organizations that serve people with disabilities and older adults, nonprofit agencies, etc. During the workshops, participants will also learn about transportation options available from local providers. The first round of workshops was held in December.

Workshops will be held in multiple rural areas throughout Texas and some workshops will simultaneously be held at satellite locations in addition to the primary workshop location. Also, all workshops will be available as live webinars. If you are unable to attend a workshop, you can submit your input online by taking the Public Transportation for Elderly and Persons with Disabilities survey or by calling (512) 360-0668. The deadline to provide input is February 1, 2017.
