Meaningfully addressing systemic injustice against black Americans is a matter of civil and human rights. The growing recognition of the rights of people with disabilities can be attributed to the courage and historic work of black Americans who inspired others to pursue their own freedom and equality through direct action and nonviolence.
While disabilities cross all racial and ethnic boundaries, today and every day the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities supports black Texans. We work diligently to share and magnify the voices of those who are often unheard. TCDD will continue statewide efforts to reduce racial inequality. We are with you in the work for a just, equitable, and inclusive Texas.
