Share Your Input on Rural Transportation Needs

Texas Transportation Workshops Hero

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is hosting virtual workshops and gathering input on the transit needs of people with disabilities and older adults in rural areas. The input will help TxDOT decide how to distribute federal funding to public transportation providers through the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program, also known as the Section 5310 program.

TxDOT is seeking input from public transit users, organizations that serve people with disabilities and older adults, nonprofit agencies, and others interested in public transportation. This is an opportunity for you to learn about public transportation programs and share your ideas on improving the rural transportation system for people with disabilities and older adults.

You can participate in the workshop for your area online or by phone. Workshops have already been held for the Atlanta, Beaumont, Bryan, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Lufkin, and Paris areas. If you can’t make it to a workshop, you can share your ideas with TxDOT by:

  • completing an online survey (English or Spanish);
  • filling out an online comment form (English or Spanish);
  • emailing your input to ptn_programmgmt@txdot.gov;
  • leaving a voicemail message at 512-585-3526; or
  • mailing your comments to TxDOT Public Transportation Division Attn: PTN-5310 Section, 125 E. 11th St., Austin, TX 78701.

The deadline to provide your input is Jan. 22, 2021.
