The Arc of Wichita County – Meaningful Day Project
Provide training and coaching to support people with developmental disabilities (DD) who want to volunteer in their communities.
Meaningful Day projects improve access to meaningful employment and community activities for people with disabilities. Grantees test models and build organizational capacity to help people with disabilities achieve meaningful outcomes.
With a new volunteer coach, The Arc of Wichita County’s project is providing training for people with DD who want to find and maintain volunteer roles in their communities. The project’s participants include young adults with DD who are transitioning into adulthood. Volunteer opportunities are coordinated with local nonprofits. The project allows The Arc of Wichita County to lay the groundwork for future community partnerships and employment opportunities for people with DD.
