The goal of this project is to help individuals with developmental disabilities create person-centered plans so that they can become more independent. The goals will be achieved through a curriculum that is art-based which will allow each person to express the ability to produce tangible expressions through mini-books, works of arts, songs and drama. The end result of the curriculum-based training will be: transformation through creative personal story-telling using the arts (understanding of self); awareness of best practices for independent living; knowledge of long-term care options, waivers and other government systems that serve people with DD; and, engagement in current activities that support systems redesign of HCBS and other long-term care systems.
