Community Conversations — Coastal Texas

TCDD Listens Banner Hero

As part of the TCDD Listens campaign, the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD) and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension (AgriLife Extension) will co-host Community Conversations in Coastal Texas to gather input from people interested in disability-related issues.

What are Community Conversations?
Community Conversations are an opportunity for Texans to voice their input in an effort to strategize solutions to meet the needs of populations with disabilities. The information collected from residents will inform education, resources, and future projects in TCDD’s State Plan.

Each Community Conversation will focus on a specific topic. During the hour-long events, participants will have an opportunity to share their experiences and ideas during a facilitated discussion. People interested in disability-related issues — self-advocates, family members, providers, and others — are encouraged to participate in any or all of the Community Conversations.

How do I participate?
Community Conversations will be conducted online and by phone using Zoom. To participate, you will need to register in advance. Once registered, you’ll receive an email with information about how to participate, including how to test Zoom prior to the event.
