Community Conversations

The Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD) and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension (AgriLife Extension) will co-host Community Conversations across the state to gather input from people interested in disability-related issues. The Community Conversations, which are part of the TCDD Listens campaign, will inform TCDD’s next state plan and other future activities.

Over the course of June and July, 20 regional Community Conversations will be held virtually via Zoom. Each Community Conversation will focus on a specific topic. During the events, participants will have an opportunity to share their experiences and ideas during a facilitated discussion. People who don’t have internet access can still participate by registering and using the call-in phone number. People interested in disability-related issues — self-advocates, family members, providers, and others — are encouraged to participate in any or all of the Community Conversations that will take place in their region.

TCDD and AgriLife Extension staff will facilitate the events. People who plan to participate must register in advance. Select Community Conversations will be held in Spanish.
