Disability Priorities for the 88th Texas Legislature
The Texas Legislature is meeting for its biennial 140-day regular session. Over the next few months, lawmakers will consider thousands of bills covering a host of issues. With so much going on — and so much at stake — it’s important for disability advocates to work together to advance their goals at the Capitol.
Please join the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD) on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, for a Disability Policy Academy titled “Disability Priorities for the 88th Texas Legislature.” The event will feature representatives from a variety of disability-related organizations who will share their top issues for the legislative session. The event will be moderated by TCDD Public Policy Director Scott Daigle.
During the Disability Policy Academy, you will hear about the following topics:
- Disability-related bills being considered during the 88th Texas Legislature
- The top legislative priorities for the Texas disability community
- How to get involved in advocating on those disability priorities
The event will be held via Zoom. Participants must register ahead of time to attend.

TCDD coordinates Disability Policy Academies to provide policy professionals with an opportunity to take a deep dive into a specific disability-related topic. In addition to learning about a topic, participants also engage in discussions with their peers, connect with other leaders, and leave with action steps they can implement in their work.
