Genessee Klemm Joins TCDD as Leadership Training Coordinator

The Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD) is pleased to announce the selection of Genessee Klemm as Leadership Training Coordinator. In her role, Klemm facilitates Texas Partners in Policymaking, TCDD’s advanced leadership development program for self-advocates and parents of children with developmental disabilities. As part of the TCDD Communications team, Klemm also raises awareness about the Council’s impact and informs disability advocates.

Klemm joins TCDD after working as a licensed speech-language pathologist at Eanes Independent School District. She also previously worked on the marketing and events team of The Arc of the Capital Area.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to advance leadership and advocacy opportunities for people with disabilities and their families,” Klemm said. “I look forward to helping local leaders grow their skills and confidence as advocates.”

In her free time, Klemm enjoys traveling and undertaking creative projects such as visual arts and filmmaking. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a master’s in communication sciences and disorders and a bachelor’s in human development and family sciences.

Klemm lived in Chicago and Baltimore before moving to Austin. She joined TCDD on July 15, 2019.
