The Blindness Education, Screening and Treatment Program provides free vision screening around the state. This program, funded by donations, is designed to prevent blindness or permanent vision loss before it occurs. It also assists uninsured adult Texas residents in paying for urgently needed eye-medical treatment such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and detached retina.
